The Goodman SSZ140381 is a high-efficiency outdoor air conditioner and heat pump for a split system installation. This outdoor component needs to be connected with an indoor air handler or an electric furnace to create a complete air conditioning system. This allows for many options for personalizing an HVAC system, which can be altered depending on desired energy-efficiency, cost, installation type and more.

This model with heat pump is capable of up to 15 SEER and 8.5 HSPF ratings when paired with the correct components. Specific ratings will depend in the indoor air handler or furnace used. This Goodman condenser features a 3 ton nominal heating and cooling capacity at 36,000 BTU. It's usually recommended that the tonnage of the outdoor condenser be less than the indoor unit.

The SSZ14 line of split system air conditioners uses a high-efficiency scroll compressor with built-in Expanded CoreSense diagnostics. Cooling is created with the environmentally friendly R-410A chlorine-free refrigerant. This Goodman condenser is reliably constructed and protected by a heavy-gauge galvanized-steel cabinet with an architectural gray powder paint finish. It also uses SmartShift technology to ensure reliable defrosting in the coldest months. Goodman has also packaged this heat pump to have the following factory-installed components:
